THE INVITATION
A week to slow down, reconnect and reset
Join renowned yoga teacher Karl Straub and the Telluride Yoga Festival community for an unforgettable week of movement, mindfulness, nourishment, and connection on the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain.
Nestled among fragrant citrus groves and Mediterranean gardens, Cal Reiet Holistic Retreat offers a sanctuary for those seeking to step away from the demands of daily life and return to what matters most. Over seven transformative days, you’ll experience yoga, meditation, meaningful conversation, delicious organic vegetarian cuisine, and the healing beauty of the Mediterranean.
Whether you are seeking renewal, inspiration, deeper self-awareness, or simply a chance to exhale, this retreat invites you to reconnect with yourself while immersed in one of Europe’s most enchanting destinations.
Seven days.
One ancient farmhouse.
The TYF community — somewhere extraordinary.
You know this feeling. It arrives at the Telluride Yoga Festival — somewhere between the morning meditation on the top of San Sophia Overlook and the afternoon walk through the aspens — when something in you goes quiet. That quality of presence — the one that only emerges when serious practice meets genuine community meets a place that holds you — is what the Telluride Yoga Festival has been offering for over two decades. And now, we are taking it somewhere new.
This retreat is an invitation to carry that feeling across the Atlantic. To gather again — this time beneath Mediterranean skies, surrounded by the scent of wild herbs and ancient olive trees, in a restored Mallorcan farmhouse that has been welcoming seekers for centuries. The Telluride Yoga Festival has always been about more than yoga. It is about what becomes possible when sincere people practice together. This is simply the next chapter.
“In community, we see ourselves more clearly — and more kindly. That is the gift of practicing together.”
AT A GLANCE
What Awaits
October in Mallorca is extraordinary. The summer crowds have dissolved. The light has turned honey-gold and unhurried. The island exhales.
At Cal Reiet — a lovingly restored sanctuary in the ancient village of Santanyí — you will wake to birdsong and the scent of jasmine, move through two deeply nourishing sessions each day with Karl Straub, and share leisurely meals in the garden as the afternoon light shifts across stone walls that have stood for centuries.
There is a cacao ceremony. A sound healing. An evening of Mallorcan cooking with the kitchen team. Long dinners by candlelight. Stars over the hills. And there is this community — your people — gathered on the mat, around the table, in the garden. That part, you already know how to do.

The Venue
Cal Reiet, Santanyí
Not a hotel — a sanctuary. A lovingly restored 15-room Mallorcan farmhouse set among fragrant gardens in the ancient village of Santanyí. Santanyí is one of the most beautiful corners of Mallorca — close to some of the island’s most breathtaking coves (Es Pontàs, Cala Llombards, Cala Figuera) and a vibrant weekly market.
At Cal Reiet you will wake to birdsong and the scent of jasmine, move through two deeply nourishing sessions each day with Karl Straub (a beloved presence at TYF for 18 years), and share leisurely meals in the garden as the afternoon light shifts across stone walls that have stood for centuries. Between sessions, the time is yours: swim in the pool, wander to the sea, linger over coffee in the village plaza, surrender to the hammam, or simply do nothing — which turns out to be harder than it sounds, and more necessary than you know.
-
15 individually designed rooms and suites — from cozy standard rooms to the stunning Luxury Attic Suite with 360° views to the sea. Natural materials, artisan linens, the warmth of a private Mallorcan home.
-
Beautiful pool area
Full spa & sauna
Traditional hammam
Indoor and outdoor yoga shalas, including an open-air shala set in the gardens
Team of therapists offering treatments from deep tissue to energetic healing (personal treatments available at additional cost)
-
An organic, seasonal restaurant and juice bar powered by locally sourced ingredients, many from Cal Reiet's own kitchen garden. All retreat meals are vegetarian. Lunch is on your own — Santanyí's village cafés and beach bars are a short walk away.
-
Fly into Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)
35–45 minutes by taxi or rental car
Address: Carrer de Cal Reiet 80, 07650 Santanyí, Mallorca
Close to stunning coves: Es Pontàs, Cala Llombards, Cala Figuera
A rental car shared between two guests is a wonderful way to explore the island.
Your Lead Teacher
Karl Straub
Karl Straub has been a beloved teacher at the Telluride Yoga Festival for 18 years — and if you’ve practiced with him on that mountain, you know exactly why we keep inviting him back.
Karl’s yoga is flowing, adaptive, and infused with a warmth that makes every practitioner — from first-timer to seasoned teacher — feel completely at home in their body. His teachings blend movement, mindfulness, humor, and heart, helping students discover greater strength, ease, and authenticity. He brings depth and clarity to the mat, and a lightheartedness that makes even difficult poses feel like an invitation, not a demand.
-
His path to the mat is a remarkable one: born in North Carolina, he was introduced to meditation at age 10, became a competitive swimmer, singer, and dolphin communication researcher, and graduated from Duke University. After six years in New York City — teaching math and science and founding one of the world’s first web hosting companies — he made a life-changing decision in 2005 to go deeper into yoga. He sold his business, let go of his Manhattan apartment, and set out on an eight-year odyssey across more than 40 cities in 12 countries, studying with teachers including Richard Freeman, Zen master Keido Fukushima, Sharon Gannon, and David Life.
-
Karl now lives in Zurich, Switzerland, where he leads classes, events, and retreats throughout Europe and around the world. This retreat marks a very special chapter: his first international retreat with the TYF community.
“Karl is a gifted storyteller whose warmth and wisdom make each session inspiring and unforgettable."
