Sean Johnson Bio:Yogi and kirtan artist Sean Johnson is the founder of Wild Lotus Yoga in New Orleans, voted "Best Place To Take A Yoga Class In New Orleans" for the last 9 years.  He is also the founder of Soul School, an interdisciplinary yoga and spirituality teacher training program that focuses on bringing soul and imagination to the art of teaching yoga. Sean in his teaching seeks to weave the emotional power of bhakti yoga with the sensuality of hatha yoga to free the spirit and bring more love, creativity, and depth to our lives. His playful classes focus on opening the heart through ecstatic chant, storytelling, mythology, creative vinyasa flows, mystical poetry, and enchanting music. Sean has taught at many conferences and festivals including Yoga Journal. Wild Lotus Band Bio: New Orleans mantra musicians Sean Johnson and The Wild Lotus Band (Alvin Young and Gwendolyn Colman) are celebrated as one of the leading voices in western kirtan music, known for their dynamic sound that merges mantras, rock, funk, and world grooves. The band is a favorite headliner at festivals and conferences worldwide including Yoga Journal and they are the first kirtan band to ever play The New Orleans Jazz Festival, profiled in this Elephant Journal article. Their album Devaloka is the band's debut release on Nettwerk/Nutone Records, Canada's largest independent record label, and home of such eclectic artists as Sarah McLauchlan, Barenaked Ladies, Jars Of Clay, Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), and Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) as well as renowned chant artists Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Bhagavan Das, and more.  Sean also worked closely co-curating and writing the liner notes for Putumayo World Music's album Yoga, that features the band’s music along with many other inspiring world music artists.
